Last night, two friends and I went out for a little libation after work. And we laughed. Hard. Like school children. And, my goodness, did it feel good. And even better, it was because we were taking pictures to make us look fat. Utterly childish. Utterly funny.
Which, of course, reminded me of the great scene in Mary Poppins.
There is a good reason why the old adage goes, “laughter is the best medicine.” And if it adds to the crinkly laugh lines around my eyes, so be it.
Gracious God, in this season of Easter when we celebrate the signs of awakening all around us, help us remember to laugh. Uproariously. And to thank you every time we do. Amen.
